Fujitsu Emea legal head joins SJ Berwin

SJ Berwin has enticed Fujitsu Services head of legal for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) to return to private practice.

Jason Nield will start as an associate at the firm's outsourcing practice after having worked in-house at various Fujitsu companies for six years.

SJ Berwin head of outsourcing David Meredith said: "Ten years ago I wouldn't have recruited Jason because he wouldn't have existed in-house - 10 years ago guys like him were in private practice."

Meredith said the increasing strength of supplier in-house departments has resulted in his acting increasingly on the customer side, adding: "The reality is that the market for supplier-side work is shrinking and has been for the past 10 years."
