Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson is ramping up its highly-rated structured finance practice in the US.
The firm is hiring Robert Villani as a partner in New York from JP Morgan Securities, where he was vice-president of the securitised finance group. Before that he was a corporate partner at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe. He will join the structured finance and securitisation group, headed by partner Laurence Isaacson. The group has a strong relationship with Ashurst Morris Crisp and has a growing workload. Isaacson said: "Over the last few years, our structured finance practice has expanded rapidly." The Ashursts relationship began earlier this year when a team of structured finance partners moved there from the London office of Weil Gotshal & Manges.
