Fried Frank hires top IT lawyer

New York firm Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson is recruiting the chief technology counsel and senior vice-president of MCI WorldCom.

Timothy Casey, who according to the firm is one of the US's top five technology lawyers, will join Fried Frank as a partner in Washington DC next month.

He will boost the firm's intellectual property and technology practice and will develop the group across the firm's New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris offices.

Co-managing partner at Fried Frank Peter Cobb says: "Over the past decade Tim has [built] first-rate law practices for three of the most dynamic and inventive companies in their respective industries, MCI WorldCom, Silicon Graphics and Apple.

"We are de-lighted that he is bringing these assets to Fried Frank."
