Freshfields revamps corporate management as Braham takes the reins

Braham’s former role as joint head of the infrastructure and transport sector group (ITG) has been handed to Hamburg-based partner Nils Koffka. He will work alongside joint head of sector Nick Bliss.

Koffka was previously joint head of the global private equity group alongside London-based partner Chris Bown, but both men’s terms recently expired.

Cologne-based partner Ludwig Leyendecker takes over as sole leader of the global private equity practice. Bown has been appointed as head of the London private equity team.

Each of the appointments will last for four years.

Braham was selected as global head of corporate by joint senior partners Guy Morton and Konstantin Mettenheimer, taking over from German predecessor Andreas Fabritius (31 July 2009).

Freshfields chief executive Ted Burke said: “Chris founded the private equity group and, together with Nils, turned it into a real strength of the firm.

“Edward, along with Nick Bliss, founded the ITG group, and it has become a major focus area for us. We’re confident that Ludwig and Nils, in their new roles, will be able to build on these strong foundations.”
