Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has introduced free care sessions for every London employee as part of a beefed-up benefits package.
The magic circle firm has teamed up with specialist employee benefits provider My Family Care to offer up to 10 free back-up care sessions a year for staff at its City HQ.
The sessions can cover childcare, eldercare, dependant adult care and school holiday cover.
Global HR partner Caroline Stroud said: “The My Family Care benefit is one of many initiatives we offer to support our people. Balancing professional and personal responsibilities can be challenging at the best of times and when regular arrangements for care fall through – particularly at the last minute - it can be very stressful.
“In dealing with these situations, having the option of high-quality emergency care provides peace of mind and a solution to fall back on if and when people need it.”
The service allows employees to book emergency childcare with as little as two hours’ notice or to book local back-up care for dependant adults and elderly relatives. A confidential helpline is also available.
Stroud added: “The pace of modern life’s putting ever more strain on professionals who try to juggle a successful and rewarding career with spending quality time with family and friends.”
