  • Surely this is simply a way of keeping professionals in the office, and generating higher fees than the cost of the care, in situations where they would otherwise have to go home!

  • Don't be so cynical. The flipside of your contention is that by providing employees with these services, where they would normally need to take time off, the employees are allowed to carry on their career progression better without it being interrupted as much.

  • @Anonymous 3:23, I am a cynic generally but in these times of employer power is it correct to assume that otherwise they would have to go home? Perhaps it would simply create stress as they desperately try to find friends or family to help, in fear of not wanting to jeapardise their job.

  • Anonymous 3:23 - You are clearly not a working mother. If you were you would understand quite how stressful it can be when your child is ill and can't go to school or when your normal childcare arrangements fall apart. I for one am very grateful for this initiative and congratulate my firm for implementing it.
