Corporate partner Teresa Ko is the new China managing partner while M&A specialist Chris Wong has become managing partner in Beijing.
Robert Ashworth will continue in his role as head of the Asia corporate practice while Clive Rough and Melissa Thomas will continue as managing partners of the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices respectively.
Ko, who will remain in the firm's Hong Kong office where she has practised as a corporate lawyer, joined Freshfields in 1988 and became a partner in 1993. Ko is also a member of the firm's partnership council and her specialisations lie in corporate finance, public and private M&A work and private equity transactions.
Wong joined Freshfields’ London office in 1994 before re-locating to the Hong Kong office in 1998. He moved to Beijing in 2003 and made partner in 2005. He specialises in domestic and cross border public and private M&A and private equity securities offerings.
