Freshfields, Lovells, Slaughters cut BPP grants

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Lovells and Slaughter and May have all reduced the maintenance grants for students on the fast-track City LPC Consortium, to be run by BPP Law School.

The course takes seven and a half months to complete rather than the normal 10 months.

Freshfields has reduced its grant by 17 per cent, from £7,250 to £6,000, Lovells by 12 per cent, from £8,000 to £7,000, and Slaughters by 25 per cent, from £7,450 to £5,580.

Slaughters graduate recruitment partner Robert Byk said: “We’ve reduced the maintenance grant for Slaughter and May students proportionately in line with the fact that the overall course is shorter.”

Herbert Smith’s and Norton Rose’s grants remain unchanged at £7,000.
