This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
John Chrisman joined the firm in 1997 after spending seven years at Sullivan & Cromwell. He specialises in advising European clients on international securities offerings while representing companies and investment banks on cross-border M&A.
He says: "I'm leaving Freshfields at the end of January, and the reason for it is that we have decided to move to Australia. I will be taking a job at a law firm in Sydney, but it's not yet finalised."
Chrisman has been involved in offerings by Alstom in France, EM.TV in Germany, Eni in Italy and Indian Petrochemicals in India. In the UK he has acted on public offerings for P&O Princess Cruises and Stagecoach.
His departure leaves Freshfields with just three US securities partners in London and two in mainland Europe. The London group is headed by Tom Joyce, the others are Don Guiney and Sarah Murphy.
