Freshfields has lost its second European IP partner in as many weeks, after Matteo Orsingher quit the Milan office to set up his own practice.
Orsingher Avvocati Associati will launch at the start of July with four lawyers, focusing on IP and IT advice.
Freshfields Italy managing partner Raffaele Lener said: “We regret Matteo leaving but we understand his wish to create a practice on his own skill.
“We thank him for his contribution to the success of the firm and for building a practice which has always given, and will continue to give, the best IP assistance,” he added.
Orsingher’s departure follows hot on the heels of that of France IP head Xavier Buffet Delmas to Hogan & Hartson’s Paris office last week.
