Freshfields launches probe into business support team

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has launched an internal investigation into one of its business support functions.

The move follows irregularities in relation to supplier agreements entered into by the magic circle firm. A small number of people, who are helping with the investigation have been asked not to turn up for work.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Freshfields said: “We are investigating possible questions in relation to supplier arrangements in one of our business support functions. No client information or funds are involved and no conclusions have yet been reached.”

The spokesperson added that no sensitive or financial data is involved.

  • How does "No client information or funds are involved" go together with "no conclusions have yet been reached"? Isn't that a conclusion?
