Bloxham is suing his former firm for age discrimination. See story. Today the tribunal heard of the alleged politics behind the partnership pension reforms. The superheroes, by the way, refer to arbitration partner Jan Paulsson, former litigation chief Ian Taylor and tax partner Richard Ballard, who were allegedly earmarked to get packages at the equivalent rate of the top of the firm’s lockstep.

The Grey Panthers, meanwhile, were a group of older partners who were not in line for the offer. They included luminaries such as finance partner David Ereira (now at Linklaters) and corporate partner Lois Moore (now at Shearman & Sterling).
