French independent De Pardieu Brocas Maffei has snagged a leading tax lawyer from Jones Day in Paris.
Emmanuel Chauve joins De Pardieu to head up its tax practice, bringing with him a team including two senior tax associates from Jones Day and one from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Chauve came to Jones Day from EY Law, where he headed up the real estate tax department. He specialises in real estate tax but also does private equity and corporate tax work, both in France and internationally. Chauve had been at Jones Day for four years.
Senior partner Charles-Henri de Pardieu said: "Emmanuel Chauve is very well-known to our people, because we worked with him over the years on a number of major transactions for very significant clients. This will really allow us to strengthen our base of clients and induce new clients to come to us."
