French independent Veil Jourde has strengthened its public and constitutional law capability with the appointment of two partners.
The firm announced the arrival of former government official Emmanuel Glaser this month. Glaser spent the bulk of his career at the French Conseil d’Etat, which advises the government on legislation and is also the country’s highest appeal court.
Veil Jourde co-founder Jean Veil said Glaser’s appointment would enable the firm to further develop its public and competition law practices.
Glaser’s hire follows that of academic Olivier Duhamel at the start of the year. Duhamel specialises in constitutional law and is an expert on the procedure known as the priority question of constitutionality (Question Prioritaire de Constitutionalité, or QPC), which allows French citizens to question an act of parliament before a court.
Veil Jourde now has a total of 15 partners in its 40-strong team.
