France's Lefèvre adds Landwell partner to banking team

French independent Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés has bolstered its banking and finance team with the hire of a partner from Landwell & Associés.

Nicolas Mordaunt-Crook joins Lefèvre Pelletier from the PricewaterhouseCoopers-allied firm along with an associate, Manon Carissimo.

Mordaunt-Crook previously worked for Lefèvre Pelletier as an associate. He has also worked for firms including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer before joining Landwell in 2008 as a director.

His practice focuses on asset management and credit institutions, advising clients on business structuring, contractual arrangements and the marketing of products and services.

The hire is part of Lefèvre Pelletier’s strategy to strengthen its banking and finance capabilities. The firm now has seven partners and 20 lawyers in the banking team.

Mordaunt-Crook is the fourth lateral hire for Lefèvre Pelletier this year. In March the firm hired three partners from Marccus Partners (14 March 2011).

Meanwhile, Landwell has lost several partners during the course of 2011, including a three-partner team who decamped for Jeantet Associés (12 April 2011). Other partners have left for firms including Simmons & Simmons and Bird & Bird.
