Fox International Channels appoints Asia Pacific general counsel

Fox International Channels (FIC) has appointed Francis Chang as its senior vice-president legal and business affairs and general counsel for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Chang commenced his new position at the company on 2 December, after relocating from Canada to Hong Kong. He was previously a partner in the Vancouver office of Canadian firm Blake Cassels & Graydon.

He is the most senior legal executive in the region and is responsible for all of FIC’s business and legal affairs as well as its standards and practices. Chang reports to FIC’s president of Asia Pacific and Middle East Zubin Gandevia as well as to executive vice president and general counsel of the Fox Networks Group in the US Rita Tuzon.

Prior to joining Blakes in 2005, he had extensive experience in Asia and the television industry. He worked at Star TV in Hong Kong as vice-president and deputy general counsel from 1999 to 2005 and before that as regional manager of legal and business affairs for Walt Disney Television International in Hong Kong.
