Former Tyco GC joins E&Y in global roleTyco’s former Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) general counsel Trevor Faure is to set to take on the global general counsel role at Ernst & Young (E&Y), where he will lead a team of 300 lawyers.

As revealed by TheLawyer.com (21 January), Faure’s resignation from Tyco prompted a wholesale reorganisation of the security and manufacturing company’s legal department, with his role being eliminated.

E&Y, which has a turnover of over $24bn and member offices in more than 140 countries, has been looking to recruit a legal chief since Ernst & Young Global’s general counsel Jeremy Barton left the firm last year.

Faure will be based in the professional services firm’s London office when he joins in March.

He said of E&Y: “It’s the most globally integrated organisation in professional services and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities this will bring.”

Prior to joining Tyco in 2004 Faure was Emea legal director at computer company Dell, having previously worked at Apple.

While at Tyco Faure drastically overhauled the company’s legal team and set up a model that saw all its external legal work carried out by Eversheds.

Tyco’s Emea deputy general counsel and chief compliance counsel Enrique Aznar has also left the company, taking up the post of global compliance counsel at Nokia Siemens Networks.
