Scottish & Newcastle’s former general counsel and company secretary Peter Kennerley has joined power generation company Aggreko.

Scottish & Newcastle’s (S&N) former general counsel and company secretary Peter Kennerley has joined power generation company Aggreko.

Kennerley’s role at S&N was made redundant when the brewer was taken over by Carlsberg and Heineken (The Lawyer, 6 May).

Aggreko provides temporary power to businesses and events such as the Beijing Olympics and the Glastonbury ;festival. Kennerley will become the director of legal affairs and company secretary.

He said: “The crucial thing will be that we have the right legal and compliance structure for a rapidly growing business.”

Aggreko’s legal department houses one other lawyer. The company, which is based in Glasgow, uses Slaughter and May and Dickson Minto for external legal work.

Graeme Colquhoun is now heading S&N’s UK legal function.
