Latham & Watkins's Washington office is continuing its high-profile securities litigation recruitment drive after appointing a former member of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Division of Enforcement
As first revealed on www.thelawyer.com/lawyernews, William Baker, the former associate director at the division, who was with the SEC for 15 years, is due to join the firm on 18 February.
Among the many cases Baker was involved in, the most recent saw the lawyer spearheading the investigation into teleccoms group WorldCom.
Baker will join a swathe of recent arrivals at Latham's Washington securities litigation team, including David Brodsky, the former general counsel for the Americas at Credit Suisse First Boston who joined the firm last year.
