Italian IP boutique Orsingher is opening a Rome office with the hire of Domenico Colella, formerly name partner at Portolano Colella Cavallo.
Portolano Colella Cavallo announced Colella’s departure last week (12 April 2012) and said it was changing its name to Portolano Cavallo.
The hire continues Orsingher’s growth, which last year saw the firm hire Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Milan-based IP head Marco Consonni (5 July 2011).
Rome is seen as a key location for the firm, as it is a hub for entertainment, regulatory and telecoms work.
Colella is Orsingher’s fourth partner, joining Consonni and founding partners Matteo Matteo Orsingher and Fabrizio Sanna. Orsingher, previously a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Sanna founded the firm in 2007.
The boutique focuses on the TMT sector, advising on issues related to IP, competition, media and advertising law.
