  • Ed Milliband's suggestion that DG would preside over a whitewash is one he should not repeat outside the House of Commons. Anyone who genuinely thinks DG would whitewash the affair doesn't know DG: it could be genuinely uncomfortable for anyone who has anything to hide.

  • As any fule kno, the key in these inquiries is the terms of reference. If too narrowly drawn, his hands are tied. He is unlikely to be able to complain about the terms of reference, at least publically. An interesting one to watch, but I tend to agree with Anon at 27-Mar-2012 5:19 pm.
