The German Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy partner who left the firm after just 10 days has joined independent firm P+P Poellath + Partners.
Wolfgang Grobecker (pictured), a corporate advisory specialist, has joined the Munich office of P+P Poellath + Partners, focusing on M&A, and litigation and arbitration.
Grobecker began his career at Slaughter and May best friend Hengeler Mueller but in January made a rare move away from the firm to join Milbank, saying the wanted to work on more international projects (5 January 2010).
Hengeler Mueller then took the unprecedented step of releasing a statement that said Grobecker was forced to part with the firm due to “unacceptable misconduct” (11 January 2010).
The same day, Milbank announced that Grobecker would be leaving the firm after just 10 days (11 January 2010).
Poellath is a 90 lawyer firm with offices in Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin.
Poellath did not return calls for comment.

He criticised the lack of Hengeler's international practice...and so ends up at that cross-border powerhouse Poellath.
