Former Dechert securitisation co-head joins Mayer Brown

Dechert’s former co-head of securitisation Richard Ambery has resurfaced at Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.
Ambery joined Dechert five years ago from Clifford Chance, with a mandate to build a securitisation practice. He specialises in mortgage-backed and property-related structured finance products.
Ambery left magic circle firm Clifford Chance, where he was an associate, after former mentor Robert Palache moved to Nomura.
Eighteen months ago, Dechert hired another former Clifford Chance lawyer, John Gordon from Nomura’s principal finance group, to take joint responsibility with Ambery for driving the securitisation practice.
Ambery has taken assistant Mark Thomas with him to Mayer Brown.
