Former BEA Systems general counsel Nils Breidenstein has joined business process management company Pegasystems as its director of legal for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) and Asia-Pacific regions.
Breidenstein's appointment sees Pegasystems locate its first in-house lawyer on UK shores, with the legal function for the Emea region being previously provided by lawyers in Pegasystems' US headquarters.
Breidenstein's new role will involve the development of Pegasystems' operations in Asia and Europe.
"My responsibilities will include both the commercial activities and the corporate matters of Pegasystems," said Breidenstein.
He will also manage and implement Europe and Asia Pacific-wide projects and initiatives to provide Pegasystems' sales and consulting teams with best practice legal support and the corporation with up-to-date counsel and guidance.
Breidenstein reports to US-based vice-president and general counsel Sean Hoyt and is based in the company's Reading office.
