A leading lawyer in the division of enforcement at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is leaving to join Foley & Lardner.
Gregory Bruch is assistant director in the division and is joining the national firm's Washington DC office. He will join both the financial markets practice group at the 1,000-lawyer firm and the compliance, counselling and government enforcement practice. The firm's financial markets practice will now boast 35 lawyers, five of whom are former enforcement attorneys at the SEC. The firm claims that, with this addition, it will be the only firm with attorneys experienced in both defence and prosecution at both the Justice Department and the SEC.
