The Forum of Insurance Lawyers (Foil) has appointed the general manager of the Copyright Licensing Agency as its new executive director.
Qualified barrister Elizabeth Bramwell is taking over the running of the organisation after Sue Bucknall left to become director of the Solicitors' Pro Bono Group.
Bramwell will oversee the day-to-day management of the group, whose president is Martin Staples, the senior partner at top insurance firm Vizards Staples & Bannisters.
Staples says Bramwell has been given the job because of her management experience and work in legal publishing. In the past she has been publishing director at Sweet & Maxwell and managing director at publishers Kluwer Publishing UK and Longman Law Tax and Finance.
He adds: "She has got huge organisational ability and all of the things she has done are a big help from our point of view. "
Her role will include setting up meetings with the Government and judiciary and liaising with the Lord Chancellor's Department.
