This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Titmuss Sainer Dechert's property head Steven Fogel has been chosen as the firm's new senior partner to replace Michael Smith, who stands down on 1 May next year.
Fogel, 47, who is regarded as one of the top 10 property lawyers in the City, is expected to bring a fresh eye to the firm's organisation. He was chosen by Titmuss's board after it took soundings with all 38 partners on who would be the most popular choice.
Smith, who has had two four-year terms of office, will remain a partner with responsibility for developing the firm's Lloyd's insurance practice.
He has been at the firm since joining as a trainee 23 years ago, was made a partner in 1980 and became head of property in 1990.
Fogel said: "We've had a great two years. The challenge is to build on those areas in which we excel and draw on an imaginative partnership which has innovated on many fronts."
