Floored thinking

Crowing about its new London office opposite St Paul’s, a recent press release from Morgan Lewis & Bockius said that the new space in Condor House “has been designed to be both energy and environmentally efficient, with over 75 per cent of waste building material recycled and all deliveries to the building measured for CO2 emissions.”

Its other major boast was that, in the main conference room, “a specially commissioned marble table weighing over 850kg required the floor to be additionally strengthened before installation”. Assuming the table wasn’t constructed from a few recycled bits of the nearby Cathedral, Tulkinghorn wonders what the carbon cost of delivering it was?
