Flipping freebies prove a flop

Thanks go out to the anonymous tipster who told Tulkinghorn about a recent conference in Brussels, where the delegates were peppered with the usual array of banal corporate freebies such as pens, memory sticks and no doubt really tasteful cufflinks.

But, as was pointed out, tasteless though they may be, at least these objects could be used post-event. Unlike the gift kindly provided by Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP). According to the secret squirrel, BLP generously bunged the delegates giant size-11 flip-flops.

“Given only three of the 120 delegates had suitably sized feet, it would be good to know for what they were intended,” the source wondered.

More importantly, Tulkinghorn would like to know how exactly the spy knew everyone’s shoe size?
