The sports group at Fladgate Fielder has vowed to crack Premiership club clients after scooping a lead role on Crystal Palace FC's claim against ex-manager Iain Dowie.
Sports head Mark Buckley told The Lawyer: "It's defin-itely an area we're looking to expand. We have contacts in a lot of places in the Premiership and always keep an eye out for suitable opportunities."
Buckley is leading the charge against Dowie, who left Palace to join London rival Charlton Athletic FC. Palace chairman Simon Jordan claims he was tricked into waiving the £1m compensation clause in Dowie's contract, saying Dowie lied about his reasons for leaving.
Fladgates has issued a claim form demanding the £1m compensation plus damages. Charlton has instructed outside counsel to represent Dowie, but refused to comment.
