The former head of Halliwells’ London real estate finance practice has joined Fladgate.
Kim McMurray is the firm’s third lateral partner hire in recent months, following the arrival of former Harbottle & Lewis managing partner Lawrence Abramson (5 June 2010) and ex Forsters corporate head Jeremy Whiteson (7 July 2010).
McMurray acts for banks and borrowers and her clients include Lloyds Banking Group, Bank of Ireland, Allied Irish, ING, RBS and Butterfield. Her practice focuses on the hotel, care home, education and retail sectors.
Fladgate chairman Paul Leese said: “Our recent relocation to larger premises in Covent Garden signals the beginning of a new chapter for Fladgate and underlines our ambition, our confidence and our plans for future growth. Kim’s appointment is part of our continuing strategy to develop the firm.”
Senior partner Charles Wander added: “Things are gradually beginning to come back in the property market. Kim’s arrival is a great platform for us to continue growing.”

And who would know better about how to manage relocation to larger premises than a Halliwells real estate partner?

Real Estate finance market is really very weak now, but that’s true that things are gradually beginning to come back in the property market. Kim’s arrival is a great platform for us to continue growing.
