Fladgate has advised German retailer Jack Wolfskin on the company’s first foray into the UK market.
Property associate Philip Mundy represented the company, which produces outdoor equipment and clothing, in securing leases for its first two properties in London: a 5,930sq ft store in the Westfield shopping centre and a 3,000sq ft premises in Long Acre, Covent Garden.
Fladgate won the mandate as a result of its long-standing relationship with the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce in London. Mundy worked alongside members of the firm’s German desk, including supervising partners Andrew Kaufman and Alex Kaufmann.
Mundy said: “Our German-speaking team combines legal knowhow with a practical understanding of similarities and distinctions in [the two countries’] legal systems and business cultures, and we were able to utilise this in advising Jack Wolfskin on their expansion into the UK. We look forward to working with them on the rollout of further stores.”
