This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
London and south Wales firm Morgan Bruce has appointed a chief executive for the first time.
David Main joins from medical software company Clinical Computing, where he was managing director.
Main will join the management board of Morgan Bruce but as a non-solicitor he will be a salaried employee of the partnership. Managing partner Guy Clarke and chairman John Bowen will both remain in their positions.
Morgan Bruce's move means it will have a similar set-up to Simmons & Simmons, which has non-solicitor managing director Alan Morris.
Morgan Bruce last year launched a specialist service for the drugs industry headed by pharmaceutical law specialist Anthony Warnock-Smith, but Main said this was not a major factor in him joining the firm.
Main said he was recruited by Morgan Bruce to lead the strategic development of the firm. He said it was looking to grow both organically and through acquisitions. He also wanted to bring together the administrative and support departments of the firm.
Bowen commented: "David has the... management and leadership skills and experience to develop and implement our business strategy effectively."
