Walker Morris set to commemorate World IP Day with free event
To mark World IP Day, Walker Morris is hosting an event to help individuals and organisations to understand the importance of intellectual property (IP) rights and to learn what steps they need to take to protect their ideas, creations, inventions and brands.
The free event — which will take place on 26 April 2013 in Leeds — will feature client case studies and legal surgeries provided by Walker Morris’s specialist IP lawyers.
The case studies, to be discussed between 14:30 and 15:30, will cover the following topics:
- Inventions in practice — inventor Andrew Gray will explore the commercialisation of ideas
- Soft IP in business — a representative from a graphic and website design agency will look at soft IP rights
- Protecting your designs — an anti-counterfeiting expert will consider the significance of design rights
- Making your mark — this will explore the practical importance of protecting brands
The free legal surgeries will take place between 15:30 and 16:30. IP solicitors and trademark attorneys from Walker Morris will be available to discuss IP queries.
