Olswang acts for APEF 6 on acquisition of Redcats' children and family division
Olswang has acted for Alpha Private Equity Fund 6 (APEF 6) on the acquisition of Redcats’ children and family division from apparel and accessories specialist Kering/PPR for €119m (£101m).
Redcats’ children and family division consists of the Vertbaudet and Cyrillus brands, among others.
In Germany, the transaction included the indirect acquisition of the entire interest in Vertbaudet, which was a joint venture between Cyrillus and Puccini — part of the Carlyle group — prior to the transaction.
APEF 6 specialises in leveraged buy-out and capital development, targeting medium-sized companies with an enterprise value of between €50m and €500m in France, Italy, Benelux and Switzerland. APEF 6 backs managers of growing companies that enjoy a strong and strategic position in their markets.
The Olswang team was led by Paris-based partner Guillaume Kessler, together with a team including partner Vanina Paolaggi and senior associates Jessica Schinkel, Malak Tazi, Lucilia Grilo and Julie Tchaglass (corporate) and Clara Steinitz and Alexandra Crance (intellectual property).
The German team was led by partner Georg von Wallis (tax/corporate) and senior associates Michael Samp and Henrik Armah (both corporate).
The London team was led by partners Mark Bertram and Brian McDonnell, together with associates Abigail Wahnon and Oliver Ellington.
The Madrid team comprised of Spain managing partner Javier Vasserot, senior associate Francisco Vazquez Oteo and associate Eduardo Vazquez de Prada (corporate), legal director Alvaro de la Via (tax) and associate Maria Eugenia de la Cera (employment).
