Nabarro advises Great Portland Estates on law firm pre-let at New Fetter Lane
Nabarro has acted for developer and investor Great Portland Estates (GPE) on one of its most significant ever pre-lets. Bird & Bird has agreed to lease more than 140,000ft² (13,000m²) at 12/14 New Fetter Lane, which will become the law firm’s new London headquarters.
As part of the deal, GPE restructured its interest at New Fetter Lane. This site is now held on a 154-year lease from the City Corporation. GPE will commence demolition of the existing buildings this summer, with practical completion scheduled for late 2015.
The Nabarro team advising GPE on the deal was led by real-estate partner Barry Morris and included construction partner Alistair McGrigor and tax partner Simon Rose, supported by senior associates Alan Crawford and Caroline Hankins (real estate) and Clare Eccles (planning) and associates Joanne Mulholland and Charlotte Brooks (real estate) and Lauren Lenz (tax).
