DLA Piper's restructuring team receives top honours at 2013 Turnaround Atlas Awards
DLA Piper has announced that its restructuring practice received top honours at the 2013 Turnaround Atlas Awards. The firm was recognised in three categories: the Mid Markets Restructuring Law Firm of the Year; Chapter 11 Reorganization Deal of the Year for its work representing Reddy Ice in its Chapter 11 reorganisation; and Consumer Products Turnaround of the Year for its work representing Authentic Brands Group in its acquisition of the HMX Group.
Trailer Bridge’s Chapter 11 reorganisation, which was led by DLA Piper, was also recognised as the Transport & Logistics Turnaround of the Year.
In addition, Gregg Galardi, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s restructuring practice, was named among Turnaround Atlas Award’s Top 100: Global Restructuring and Turnaround Professionals.
The awards were presented at a gala dinner held in Chicago on 26 June and were sponsored by M&A Network, which recognises outstanding performances from the global restructuring, special situations M&A and turnaround communities.
The DLA Piper team that handled Reddy Ice’s case included partners Galardi, Chris Dickerson, Vince Slusher, Jamie Knox, Sidney Burke and James Nelson and associate Randi Bernstein.
The DLA Piper team representing ABG was led by partner Richard Chesley and included partners Gina Durham and Ann Lawrence, as well as associates Chun Jang and Dan Simon.
Galardi led the DLA Piper team representing Trailer Bridge, which included partner Craig Martin alongside associates Sarah Castle and Gabriella Zborovsky.
