DLA Piper expands London corporate group
DLA Piper has announced that Rob Salter and Anu Balasubramanian will be joining as partners in the London corporate group.
Salter trained at Freshfields before joining Berwin Leighton Paisner in 2004, where he was made partner in 2006. Balasubramanian trained at Ashurst, moving to Kirkland & Ellis in 2005, where she was promoted to the partnership in 2007.
Salter is experienced in public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, primary and secondary equity issues and corporate reorganisations, with a particular focus on the real-estate and infrastructure sectors.
He is ranked as a leading individual in Chambers 2012 for Corporate/M&A: Mid-Market and is praised for his ‘technical skills’ and ability to ‘negotiate very ably’. He is also recommended for M&A: Premium Deals in the 2012 edition of Legal 500.
Balasubramanian’s practice focuses on the structuring and implementation of complex private-equity transactions. She has advised European and US clients on a variety of matters, including cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and management equity plans.
She is a dual-qualified solicitor in England and Wales and India, and was a key member of Kirkland & Ellis’s India practice.
