Winckworth Sherwood shortlisted for Best Community Engagement Programme
Winckworth Sherwood has been shortlisted for the Best Community Engagement Programme at the Management Excellence Awards. The award will be announced at a reception at the London Marriott in March.
The Managing Partners’ Forum has nominated the firm for its wide-ranging CSR programme, which works alongside smaller, local charities in and around Bankside. Activity focuses around the core practice areas in the firm and includes:
- Southwark literacy — 24 members of staff reading in two of Southwark’s primary schools once a week assisting in the development of children’s literacy;
- Food for all — an alternating team of at least two members of staff distributing meals to the disadvantaged on Friday lunchtimes each week;
- Peabody Trust — staff conducting mock interview training for the long-term unemployed in conjunction with its client’s employment initiatives service each month; and
- Southwark Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) — six members of staff, from a wider team of 23, volunteering monthly at their local CAB rent arrears clinic, providing advice to enable tenants to manage their money better.
