Walker Morris set to provide legal advice to NHS Shared Business Services
Walker Morris has been appointed by NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) following a successful tender to help deliver quality legal services and savings to the NHS.
NHS SBS is a joint venture between the Department of Health and Steria. The organisation provides support services designed for the NHS and currently works in partnership with more than 50 per cent of all NHS trusts and organisations. These services include finance and accounting, employment services, procurement and primary care services.
Walker Morris has been appointed to provide legal advice in six areas: employment law; contract and commercial law; property law; construction; IT, telecommunications and e-commerce; and corporate finance and PFI/PPP projects including LIFT schemes.
NHS SBS’s aim is to deliver savings of £224m for the NHS by 2015, which it has achieved 15 months ahead of schedule.
