Walker Morris set to hold employment breakfast seminar in Leeds

Walker Morris will hold the first of its new programme of employment breakfast seminars in Leeds on 7 April 2014.

The seminar will cover key developments over the last six months with a focus on: ‘need to know’ recent changes including ACAS early conciliation, financial penalties for employers and practical implications of case law developments; focus on TUPE reforms — what has changed and what do you need to know?; and ‘on the horizon’ — what is coming up and what do you need to do to prepare?

The seminar will run in a format that addresses the above topics in sufficient depth but also allows time for discussion, the airing of practical experiences and networking.

The session is eligible for 1.5 CPD points.

Briefings from Walker Morris

  • Luxury fashion items and trademark infringement

Intellectual property disputes involving retailers and fashion are all too common; another one to have troubled the courts in recent months is Thomas Pink v Victoria’s Secret UK.

  • Cookies as registered Community designs

In Biscuits Poult SAS v OHIM, the applicant for invalidity challenged the registration on the basis that the design in question was not new and lacked individual character.
