Three Raymond Buildings barrister appears for Allen & Overy partners in contempt case
Alexander Cameron QC of Three Raymond Buildings has appeared for two Allen & Overy partners in a matter regarding contempt.
Following the collapse of the Serious Fraud Office’s (SFO’s) prosecution of Victor Dahdaleh at Southwark Crown Court, HHJ Loraine Smith invited written and oral submissions as to whether two partners at Allen & Overy, who had attended a meeting with a prosecution witness and his lawyers, which eventually resulted in the trial being adjourned, should be referred to the attorney-general (AG) for contempt.
He ruled that he would not refer to the AG but would ask the Solicitors Regulation Authority to consider the matter.
