Taylor Wessing advises on Atlético stadium hospitality and ticket sales joint venture
Taylor Wessing has advised Centerplate on a joint venture with International Stadia Group (ISG) and the commercial agreements with Club Atlético de Madrid, which will see Centerplate and ISG manage the hospitality and premium ticket sales at Atlético’s new stadium, scheduled to open in 2016.
Centerplate is a US hospitality provider to premium events and sports arenas. The deal is said to be the first of its kind by a Spanish football team.
Centerplate has worked on three of the last four Super Bowls in the US and 21 World Series baseball events. ISG has been involved in more than 60 new stadium projects around the world, including Wembley in the UK and the Turk Telecom Arena in Istanbul.
The project required the team at Taylor Wessing, comprising Richard Bursby, Natasha Cooper and Edward Story, to work very closely with the commercial and legal teams at Centerplate, ISG and Atlético.
