Ten members of a cyber gang, headed by Tony Colston Hayter, which plundered £1.25m from British banks through the use of ‘Trojan horse’ devices to hijack computers at Barclays and Santander, have been sentenced. Simon Farrell QC of Three Raymond Buildings acted for the prosecution.
The gang also stole thousands of credit cards and intercepted a vast amount of stolen mail to fraudulently use the cards to buy Rolex watches and designer jewellery.
