Nicholas Plowman is the Managing Partner of Ogier Hong Kong. He joined Ogier in January 2006 from Slaughter and May, London and subsequently founded Ogier’s Hong Kong office in February 2007.
Nick’s primary focus has since been on building Ogier’s now significant Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands investment funds and venture capital practice in Asia. Nick was recognised as one of the World’s Leading Investment Funds Lawyers in Euro Money’s Expert Guide 2010. He was also ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2012 and listed as a Who’s Who Private Funds Lawyer in 2012. Whilst at Slaughter and May, Nick’s focus was on large cross border, multi-jurisdictional transactions as well as private acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.
Nick received his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Asian Economic History (First Class)) from the University of Auckland.
Nick is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand and is also a Registered Foreign Lawyer regulated by the Law Society of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and AIMA.
