Scottish firm Maclay Murray & Spens (MMS) has expanded its partnership with two promotions.
Renewable energy practice head David Cruickshank has been promoted to the capital projects partnership while life sciences lawyer Ross Nicol is promoted in the IP and technology group. The promotions came into effect on 1 June.
Cruickshank has been responsible for leading development in the renewables practice since he joined in 2010, having been a director with Barclays Capital as well as stints at Linklaters and Shearman & Sterling.
In March Maclays was bolstered by the hire of a seven partner team from Semple Fraser, which had appointed administrators (8 March 2013).
The group was made up of six real estate specialists, including Semple Fraser’s managing partner Simon Etchells, and one corporate and renewable energy partner.
