NIH director hosts the dedication of the John Edward Porter Neuroscience Research Center
Hogan Lovells has announced that on 22 October 2013 the National Institute of Health (NIH) director Dr Francis Collins will host the dedication of the John Edward Porter Neuroscience Research Center on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
The eco-friendly building’s 843,442ft² (78,358m²) of laboratory, meetings, conferences and work space will bring together scientists from 11 of NIH’s institutes.
The dedication will honour Porter, a 21-year member of Congress who represented the North Shore, north-west suburbs of Chicago and the eastern half of Lake County, Illinois, for his devotion and advocacy for medical research.
After his retirement from Congress, Porter joined international law firm Hogan Lovells.
