Minter Ellison advises Pact Group on acquisition of Sulo Group
Minter Ellison has advised Pact Group Holdings on its acquisition of the Australian and New Zealand operations of Sulo Group: its first acquisition since listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in December 2013.
It has acquired the Australian and New Zealand operations of the Sulo Group from Plastics Group Pty Ltd, as well as certain plant and equipment from Seaford Plastics Pty Ltd, a related entity of Plastics Group Pty Ltd.
The Pact Group manufactures packaging and other products that service customers in the food, dairy, beverage, chemical, agricultural, industrial and other sectors. It has operations throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Sulo is the leading manufacturer of plastic waste and recycling bins in Australia and New Zealand, producing around two million bins each year.
Minter Ellison acted as legal adviser to Pact Group on the A$38.2m (£21m) acquisition, with a team led by M&A partner Matthew Hibbins, with senior associate Lise Conradie and commercial disputes partner Nick Anson.
Its associated firm in New Zealand, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, advised Pact Group on New Zealand law.
