Minter Ellison advises Eagle Downs Coal Management on construction contract
Minter Ellison has advised Eagle Downs Coal Management in connection to a drift construction contract for AUD142.8m (£77.3m) won by WDS for Eagle Downs’ Hard Coking Coal Project.
The Eagle Downs mine, located south of Moranbah in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, is jointly owned by Aquila Coal and Bowen Central Coal (a wholly owned subsidiary of Vale SA).
The contract includes the construction of two drifts of approximately 2km in length to provide access for the workforce, materials and a permanent conveyor to the
Harrow Creek upper coal seam. It also includes the establishment of permanent services required for development of the mine.
Julie Whitehead, head of Minter Ellison’s construction, engineering and infrastructure practice in Brisbane, led the work with assistance from senior associate Mark Wheelahan.
