Litigation and insolvency

Appleby’s Litigation & Insolvency group is truly international. Our lawyers act on a wide range of significant and high-profile cases in the fields of trust litigation, commercial litigation, corporate litigation and fund disputes and on insolvency, regulatory and insurance matters. Many of these cases have a multi-jurisdictional component to them, involving lawyers in our various offices working together in our clients’ best interests.

Members of the team are skilled in the resolution of all types of commercial and civil disputes, whether through litigation or arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Our lawyers include experienced advocates, who have rights of audience, conducting litigation at all levels of the court system, including the Privy Council, the final court of appeal for all seven jurisdictions.

We respond to clients’ demands, which are frequently urgent and invariably require maximum attention, with speedy and efficient service. We assert and defend our clients’ positions with both strength and efficiency, mindful that no client wishes to be involved in litigation. However, when the situation demands it, we can utilise the full strength of our global resources.

The high-level, complex nature of our instructions is testament to our top-tier status and excellent service. We continue to receive a significant percentage of our instructions from the top 20 UK and leading US law firms, as well as local financial institutions, trust companies, local governments, insurance companies and high-net-worth individuals.
