KWM advises Westpac New Zealand on a multi-currency syndicated facility
King & Wood Mallesons has advised Westpac New Zealand on a multi-currency syndicated facility for the New Zealand BJ Ball Group.
King & Wood Mallesons worked alongside Russell McVeagh as New Zealand counsel for a syndicate of financiers, including ANZ Bank New Zealand, the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, acting through its New Zealand, Australian and Hong Kong branches, and Westpac Banking Corporation.
The BJ Ball Group includes a diverse range of business units within the media and communications sector. It has a range of subsidiaries in Australia and Hong Kong and is a portfolio company of Maui Capital — a New Zealand private-equity firm.
The team was led by banking and finance partners Richard Hayes (Sydney) and Paul McBride (Hong Kong). They were assisted by senior associate Lynton Hogan, solicitor Andrew Lane and law graduate Yixin Gong in Sydney.
